Mercedes-Benz GLE - complete Steg sound system (Burmester upgrade)

Luxury Mercedes GLE SUV with Burmester factory extra sound system and demanding owner dissatisfied with this system. Quite a common situation, because the Burmester sound system, despite its price, has only an average sound that simply does not inspire. We were faced with a difficult task in the form of installing a new sound system, which will be tuned for listening exclusively to classical music. This genre is perhaps the most demanding of all, because the symphony in particular contains a large number of instruments and it is necessary to choose speakers that are capable of playing a wide spectrum of frequencies from the lowest to the highest. A powerful amplifier with a DSP processor for maximum use of speakers and their settings must not be missing. For this installation, we chose a complete system from the Italian manufacturer Steg, which, among other things, specializes in sound systems for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The speakers have the same shape, mounting and connectors as the factory speakers. So nothing needs to be drilled, screwed or soldered, and of course we will also use the original cabling. The installation is therefore in the spirit of Plug & Play and without interfering with the original wiring or interior design. We replaced the component speakers in the front and rear doors, the center speaker and the subwoofers under the dashboard. We installed an eight-channel amplifier with a DSP processor from the same manufacturer in the trunk. We set crossovers, steepness, phase, time correction and equalizer on the amplifier. In order to avoid possible resonances, we have also soundproofed the plastic door panels. The result is a perfect sound tailored for this car, which significantly surpasses both the sound and performance of the original Burmester sound system. The same sound system can be installed in most modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles, for which the speakers of the renowned Italian manufacturer Steg are directly intended.View products >Hide products >
