Sound insulation material SGM Barrier Lite Prime
SGM Barrier Lite is a top membrane material of the latest generation from the top model line SGM Prime from 2020. With a thickness of only 6 mm, it allows sound insulation of up to 28 dB, which ranks this sound insulation material among the most effective materials on the market. In addition to high efficiency, Barrier Lite is particularly focused on low weight and absolute resistance to water and moisture. For that reason, it is intended primarily for car doors, but it can be used in all areas of the car where it is advisable not to increase the weight too much. The effectiveness of SGM Barrier Lite was achieved due to the multi-layered composition of closed-cell material and correctly selected thicknesses and densities of individual layers with precisely calculated characteristics. Barrier Lite is composed of a 4.5 mm thick sound insulation layer and a new generation anti-noise membrane with a thickness of 1.5 mm. Thanks to this, it fully replaces the second and third layers of soundproofing, thus saving installation time and, of course, its price. SGM Prime membrane materials also perform a thermal insulation function thanks to their multi-layer structure with an acoustic membrane. Barrier Mix is of course 100% waterproof, does not absorb moisture and does not rot. The extremely adhesive self-adhesive layer guarantees efficiency from -40 °C to +100 °C and the material maintains constant efficiency throughout the life of the vehicle.

Where to apply the SGM Barrier Lite material
Due to its light weight and water resistance, Barrier Lite Prime is mainly intended for soundproofing vehicle doors, but it can be used in all areas of the car where it is advisable not to increase the weight too much. It is applied as a second layer to an anti-vibration material that prevents vibrations and noise at the lowest frequencies (e.g. SGM Air 2 Prime or SGM Onyx 3 Prime ). Thanks to the multi-layer composition with a noise-reducing membrane and a thickness of only 6 mm, it is no longer necessary to apply a third layer of noise reduction, which is fully replaced by Barrier Lite, due to the high efficiency of the material (up to 28 dB).
