Sound insulation material SGM Barrier Mix Profi Prime
SGM Barrier Mix Profi is a membrane material of the latest generation from the highest model series SGM Prime from 2020. With a thickness of 9 mm, it enables sound insulation of up to 37 dB, which ranks Barrier Mix Profi among the most effective materials on the market today. The efficiency of SGM Barrier Mix Profi was achieved due to the use of a re-foamed polymer composition with the addition of latex, which made it possible to obtain an extra dense and elastic material with extreme efficiency. A specially selected material composition with precisely calculated characteristics of the base layers also plays an essential role. Barrier Mix Profi is composed of a 6 mm thick sound insulation layer and a 3 mm thick anti-noise membrane. Thanks to this, it fully replaces the second and third layers of soundproofing, thus saving installation time and, of course, its price. SGM membrane materials also perform a thermal insulation function thanks to their multi-layer structure with an acoustic membrane. Barrier Mix is of course 100% waterproof, does not absorb moisture and does not rot. The extremely adhesive self-adhesive layer guarantees efficiency from -40 °C to +100 °C and the material maintains constant efficiency throughout the life of the vehicle.

Where to apply the SGM Barrier Mix Profi material
Barrier Mix Profi is intended primarily for soundproofing the most noise-laden areas, which are especially the front and rear wheel arches, the floor, the central tunnel or the partition of the engine compartment. It is applied as a second layer to an anti-vibration material that prevents vibrations and noise at the lowest frequencies (e.g. SGM Dual Prime or SGM Onyx 3 ). Thanks to the multi-layer composition with a noise-reducing membrane and a thickness of 9 mm, it is no longer necessary to apply a third layer of noise reduction, which is completely replaced by Barrier Mix Profi, due to the material's record efficiency (up to -36 dB).
