Sound insulation material SGM Silshot
SGM Silshot is the basic membrane material of the SGM company introduced in 2022. It consists of a membrane with a thickness of 2 mm and a sound and heat insulating layer with a thickness of 4 mm. Thanks to its multi-layered composition, Silshot fully replaces the second and third layers of soundproofing, thereby saving installation time and, of course, its cost. The closed cell structure ensures water resistance and the possibility of application to practically any area of the car. The sound insulation capability of up to 30 dB ranks Silshot among very effective membrane materials at an unbeatable price. An important part of the material is also the self-adhesive layer, which guarantees the same adhesive effect at temperatures from -40 °C to +100 °C throughout the life of the car.

Where to apply the SGM Silshot material
SGM Silshot is most often intended for soundproofing the floor, luggage compartment and front and rear wheel arches. It is applied as a second layer to an anti-vibration material (for example SGM Alpha 2 ), which prevents body vibrations. Thanks to its multi-layer composition with a noise-reducing membrane, it fully replaces the second and third layers of noise reduction. The most common uses of SGM Silshot damping material:
