Sound insulation material SGM Uniton

SGM Uniton is a sound- and heat-insulating material made on the basis of cross-linked polyethylene foam with an improved moisture-resistant adhesive layer. Uniton is an extremely light material with a weight of only 0.4 kg/m², which was developed especially for installations where the main task is not to increase the weight of the car too much and at the same time effectively dampen it. The material is highly flexible and can be applied even to highly embossed surfaces. It is absolutely waterproof, does not absorb moisture and does not rot. The extremely adhesive self-adhesive layer guarantees effectiveness at -40 °C to +120 °C. Available in 4 and 8 mm thickness. Compared to the base material SGM Izolontape, Uniton has higher flexibility and a more effective adhesive layer.

Where to apply the SGM Uniton material

SGM Uniton is intended for soundproofing practically all areas of the car. Due to its extremely low weight, its use is especially suitable for installations where you do not want to increase the weight of the car too much. It is applied as a second layer to an anti-vibration material that prevents vibrations and noise at the lowest frequencies (e.g. SGM Beta 2 or SGM Alpha 2 ).
