Elastic putty Colourlock Flüssigleder Neutral 7 ml

Elastic sealant intended for repairing small holes, depressions, scratches and cracks on the surface of smooth, pigmented leather. After repairing the damage, it is always necessary to recolor the surface of the leather with Leder Fresh toning paint. After drying, the putty is soft, flexible and resistant to heat and moisture.

Instructions for use of Colourlock Flüssigleder Neutral putty

1. Cleaning

Clean visibly soiled leather first thoroughly with the cleaning product Lederreiniger Mild or, in the case of more persistent dirt, with Lederreiniger Stark . Avoid getting the area to be treated wet! Leather hardens after absorbing water and then drying! Use a leather brush to clean leather with a deeper pattern.

2. Degreasing

To ensure the necessary adhesion, it is necessary to first thoroughly degrease the surface to be repaired. This applies especially to places that come into contact with human skin, such as armrests, headrests, gear levers or steering wheels.

3. Grinding

Before applying the sealant, carefully smooth out scratches, scratches and damaged edges with a sanding sponge. Remove the resulting dust with a clean rag.

4. Application of sealant

Remove the cap from the tube and evenly fill the damaged areas with sealant. Use a spatula to immediately smooth the putty. Allow to dry for one to two hours at room temperature, depending on the amount of sealant used. In the case of deeper fillings, it will be necessary to repeat the procedure several times to achieve an even filling of the place. You can speed up the drying process with a hair dryer. However, the temperature must not exceed 70 °C!

5. Shaping

The putty remains soft and elastic after drying. It is therefore not possible to further shape it by grinding. You can smooth out any minor irregularities and dirt with the correction pencil GLD Stift . This pencil contains a release agent that etches the top layer of the putty, which can then be shaped further. Remove the cap and press the felt tip several times until it is filled with solvent. Wipe off any excess liquid with a clean absorbent cloth. Lightly coat the putty until the desired shape is achieved. If necessary, it is still possible to lightly sand the putty while wet with a sanding pad. Allow to dry. Always work with a small amount of product! Too much product can cause the sealant to smear. Avoid staining the leather surface!

Tip: If the felt tip is already dirty or worn, simply remove it and reinsert it "upside down."

6. Coloring

After each leather repair with putty, it is necessary to unify the color of the repaired area by applying Leder Fresh toning paint on the leather.
