The use of anti-vibration material on vehicle doors is important not only for improving the acoustics of the speakers, but also for avoiding vibrations and resonances. Anti-vibration materials are also a necessary basis for vehicle noise reduction. The damped door will provide the speakers with ideal conditions for sound reproduction, the bass component and the sound of the mid-bass speaker will be significantly improved. Our Standard door damping kit is suitable for one pair of doors and includes:

How to apply a set of cushioning materials to a Standard door

First, remove the plastic door panels from the door.
Afterwards, thoroughly clean and degrease the door.
For easy application, we recommend using the Comfortmat Roller .
Apply 1 piece of anti-vibration material Comfortmat Standard S2 to the inner sheet of the door.
Apply 1/2 of the Comfortmat Tsunami acoustic material behind the speaker.
Use 1 piece of Comfortmat Standard S2 material again on the outer sheet.
Put the plastic door panels back on.

Anti-vibration damping material Comfortmat Standard S2

The basic anti-vibration damping material Comfortmat of the Standard series consists of a self-adhesive butyl rubber layer and an aluminum foil with a rectangular pressed structure. The new Standard model series was launched after many years of development in the Comfortmat laboratories with a unique S-Formula composition providing input materials with unique properties that premium materials from competing manufacturers offer. Thanks to the use of purpose-modified elastomer, the cushioning material Comfortmat S2 has a high coefficient of mechanical losses, stands out for its high adhesion to metal, is resistant to water, moisture, oils and extreme temperatures, has anti-corrosion properties and retains the same properties in winter and summer.

Acoustic foam Comfortmat Tsunami

Comfortmat Tsunami is a top-quality acoustic material from the top Expert series, which is primarily intended for car doors. You can use Tsunami mainly to absorb standing waves behind the speaker, which results in a significant improvement in the acoustics of the speakers in the door. Due to its high noise absorption capacity, Tsunami can also be used for overall soundproofing of doors and other surfaces, however, much more effective materials are used for this purpose, which is why we recommend applying Tsunami only directly behind the speaker. Tsunami has the latest generation of modern assembly adhesive sealant developed for the 2018/2019 season, which guarantees the same adhesive effect at temperatures from -50 to +150 degrees. Self-detachment at extreme temperatures and even under water is therefore excluded. The material is made especially for the vertical surfaces of the door, it is 100% waterproof, does not absorb water or moisture, does not rot and does not decompose.

Our tip for the application of soundproofing the door

This set is suitable for ensuring ideal acoustic conditions for speakers in vehicle doors. If you would also like to soundproof the door, we recommend the following procedure. On the inner sheet of the door, use the Comfortmat Standard S2 three-layer anti-noise material Comfortmat Integra as a second layer for the anti-vibration material. Two pieces of this material are needed for two doors. Then proceed according to the instructions above. We also recommend soundproofing the plastic door panels using premium Comfortmat Soft Wave memory foam. The plastics not only provide additional sound insulation, but also prevent unwanted resonances. You use 1 piece of this flexible foam material for one plastic filling.
