Sound insulation material SGM Isol BB-Tone 8
SGM Isol BBTone is a multi-layer material that combines three functions - anti-vibration, sound insulation and heat insulation. Isol BB-Tone is made of elastic material in the form of re-foamed polyurethane foam with polymer impregnation in combination with polymer butyl rubber self-adhesive sealant. The first layer of material consists of a 2 mm thick sealant, which dampens vibrations and prevents the development of corrosion processes due to preventing the penetration of moisture. The second layer consists of polyethylene foam with a thickness of 8 mm with a high ability to absorb noise and thermal insulation properties. On the assembly side, the material is protected by siliconized paper. The greatest advantage of the material is its high ability to absorb air-borne noise inside the car and its resistance to significant changes in temperature and humidity. The structure of polyurethane foam with secondary foaming is characterized by the presence of open pores and relatively large cavities between the flakes, so that there is almost no sound reflection. Sound waves are absorbed by the cellular structure of the material. The specially selected structure of the cross-linking composition and polymer impregnation of the material is a unique development of SGM and provides the maximum possible sound absorption characteristics. In addition, Isol BB-Tone is an extremely light material with a weight of only 0.4 Kg / 1 m², which can also be used for installations where the main task is not to increase the weight of the car too much and at the same time effectively dampen it. The material is highly flexible and can be applied even to highly embossed surfaces. The extremely adhesive self-adhesive layer guarantees effectiveness at -40 °C to +120 °C. The material complies with fire safety standards in the automotive industry, the burning rate is less than 100 mm per minute. Available in 6 and 10 mm thickness.
